I am panting for public hearings on this to begin. Pulling together all these bits and pieces should be enlightening. I only fear that most people will ignore them in favor of Ted Lasso.

A judge ruled that Trump is likely a criminal (duh) and that multiple emails John Eastman has been trying to hold onto must be released to the Jan 6 Committee.

Nixon had 18 missing minutes, Trump has 7 hours so he can claim to have the "bigliest gap" Trump discussed ‘burner phones’ several times, John Bolton saysJohn Bolton, the former national security adviser, has revealed that he heard Donald Trump use the term “burner phones” several times and that they discussed how the disposable devices were deployed by people as a way of avoiding scrutiny of their calls. Bolton’s intervention compounds Trump’s difficulties amid a billowing controversy relating to seven hours and 37 minutes that are missing in official call logs. The gap occurs in records made for 6 January last year – the day of the violent insurrection at the US Capitol. The Washington Post and CBS News disclosed on Tuesday that the House committee investigating the insurrection is looking into a “possible cover-up” of the White House records. Documents originally held by the National Archives and turned over to the committee earlier this year showed a gap in Trump’s phone calls spanning precisely the period when hundreds of his supporters stormed the Capitol building. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/mar/30/trump-john-bolton-burner-phones-capitol-attack-january-6

It turns out the blockage of lawfully required presidential records was premeditated. Clearly multiple people in the administration must have been in on it.

Some of the bricks are starting to loosen on the wall the GOP is trying to maintain and "reinforce". Jan. 6 panel obtains emails ex-Trump lawyer tried to shield“In a different email thread, Dr. Eastman and a colleague consider how to use a state court ruling to justify Vice President Pence enacting the plan. In another email, a colleague focuses on the ‘plan of action’ after the January 6 attacks.” The big picture: On Monday, Carter, who had ordered Eastman to turn over a cache of documents, accused Eastman and Trump of launching "a campaign to overturn a democratic election, an action unprecedented in American history." The committee is confident the records could reveal in greater depth how Trump and those in his inner circle "engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States," earlier court filings stated. www.axios.com/jan-6-committee-obtains-eastman-emails-10967b8b-479f-42cf-bfda-fe18b93277f7.html?fbclid=IwAR2kiF9yR7CuSKsHCWSCH1nA9LSjUahekSZ23BkHoSeeb3v_PEEFs4mGo2U

Virtually every House Republican voted to protect two seditionist plotters who attempted to overthrow the United States government. At this point if you support the Republican Party then you are a traitor.

Bupkus gets you bupkus. They had nothing and they knew it. CNN Exclusive: 'We need ammo. We need fraud examples. We need it this weekend.' What the Meadows texts reveal about how two Trump congressional allies lobbied the White House to overturn the election. When situated in the overall timeline of events between the election and January 6, the series of texts from Lee and Roy provide new details about how two Trump allies went from fierce advocates of the former President's push to overturn Joe Biden's win to disheartened bystanders. By January 3, Lee was texting Meadows that the effort "could all backfire badly." But shortly after the election, both men were encouraging Trump to keep fighting. (Here's where this one figured out it was all a bunch of nothing. Or smoking Krak(en)) In a statement to CNN, Lee's communications director, Lee Lonsberry, said, "I'd like to highlight that Senator Lee has been fully transparent," pointing to how Lee had called for an investigation into claims of fraud in the 2020 election but ultimately recognized Biden as president-elect and voted to certify the electoral results on January 6. www.cnn.com/2022/04/15/politics/mike-lee-chip-roy-text-messages-jan-6-mark-meadows-overturn-election/index.html?fbclid=IwAR2lsKwF--AK52e3NbN3xuJvkSoB3sfKUua9qNe1nZpHCQmqoLxo2EY8kJs

While I would like to think Mr Miller has seen the error of his ways, I'm betting he only wants to save his bald patootie. While it may be a bit premature, we're seeing a lot of opinion "reversals" lately. Ex-Trump aide Stephen Miller testifies to House January 6 panel for eight hoursSubpoenaed former White House adviser gives virtual deposition on whether Trump encouraged supporters to march on Capitol Former White House aide Stephen Miller testified on Thursday to the House select committee investigating January 6 about whether Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol, according to a source familiar with the matter. The select committee focused on the use of the word “we” throughout Trump’s speech, which it believes had the effect of encouraging the crowd to march to the Capitol in order to pressure Congress to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s election win, the source said. Trump used the term repeatedly over the course of his 75-minute speech, including when he told his supporters “we are going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue … and we are going to the Capitol.” The remarks, House investigators reportedly believe, amounted to an effort by Trump to encourage his supporters to march from the Ellipse to the Capitol on a false pretense, in the hope that they would disrupt Congress from certifying Biden as president. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/apr/15/stephen-miller-january-6-deposition-trump

In my mind he and Bannon are both nutbags but Miller doesn't show his mania so clearly and is happy to work behind the scenes more.

The hits just keep on coming !! More "revelations" about the insurgency. Mike Lee privately trashed 'my friend' Ted Cruz's efforts to overturn the election in texts to Mark Meadows
Republican Sen. Mike Lee privately expressed "grave concerns" to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows about his friend and political ally Sen. Ted Cruz's efforts to question and potentially overturn some of the 2020 election results. "I have grave concerns with the way my friend Ted is going about this effort," Lee wrote to Meadows on January 3, according to CNN. "This will not inure to the benefit of the president." Lee's texts are among the thousands of messages Meadows turned over to the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack. His objections were more to some of the avenues that Cruz and Sen. Josh Hawley were taking than Republicans actually trying to find avenues to thwart Joe Biden from becoming the president. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mike-lee-privately-trashed-my-friend-ted-cruz-s-efforts-to-overturn-the-election-in-texts-to-mark-meadows/ar-AAWgcTg?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=f39a6abfa0eb47a88fd99bd4d6596cea

Lee said and that Texas guy came from Meadows turning over his text messages. It seems like everybody had his phone number.

Another entry for "The Party of Family Values". This dirtbag is the father of the little twerp that stole Speaker Pelosi's Laptop and wanted to sell it to Russia. Man Arrested for Child Pornography Is Father of Infamous Jan 6th InsurrectionistA Pennsylvania man was arrested on Tuesday and faces several felony charges related to child pornography. Identified as 55-year-old Rickey Williams, a Dauphin County security officer. According to court documents, Williams thought he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl, but it was actually a police officer. Thinking he was Snapchatting with a teen, Williams requested a video of her going to the bathroom. <snip> What sets this sexual predator apart from any other? Rickey Williams has a daughter who traveled to Washington, DC, to take part in the January 6th insurrection. And then she stole Nancy Pelosi’s laptop right off of the Speaker’s desk in her Capitol office as members of Congress were sheltering in place for their safety amidst the rioting. Rickey Williams is the father of Riley Williams, the woman who famously bragged on camera that she had stolen Pelosi’s laptop with the intent of “selling it to Russia”.hillreporter.com/man-arrested-for-child-pornography-is-father-of-infamous-jan-6th-insurrectionist-98321

The only thing that mattered to McCarthy and McConnell was hanging on to what power they already had. I suspect they both believed the Big Lie would die down quickly, Trump would grow quiet and give up while those in the base who were motivated by him would transfer allegiance to them or to some other more controllable person. The chat with Liz is cocktail party talk...telling her what he believed she wanted to hear. He never meant it.
