Since my time in Maine is actually spent doing chores and fixing up this looked like an appropriate quote:
Housework is a treadmill from futility to oblivion with stop-offs at tedium and counter productivity.

I missed Sunday because I have a life of sorts. Anyway, here's the diatribe you missed:
Stretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet.
Jeremy Bentham
And today's:
Our view of the world is truly shaped by what we decide to hear.

This popped up serendipitously in the wake of current leaks about the former administration.

You have the army of mediocrities followed by the multitude of fools. As the mediocrities and the fools always form the immense majority, it is impossible for them to elect an intelligent government.

I guess the people that made the movie "Idiocracy" had this in mind.

I missed yesterday's Daily Diatribe because, I have a "life". Yesterday, I spent the day in Winslow Maine at Fast Eddie's Drive In car show. Big Bird won "Best Corvette". In reality, the competition field wasn't that big. But I have another trophy.
The best protection for the people is not necessarily to believe everything people tell them.
