Donald Trump’s favorite New Jersey defense lawyer, Alina Habba, was sued Tuesday by a Black former legal assistant who claims she was tormented by her boss loudly and repeatedly singing the N-word while listening to rap.

And the lawsuit alleges that Habba earlier this year lost her cool when she suffered a legal defeat to New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is Black—angrily shouting, “I hate that Black bitch!”

A tipster alerted The Daily Beast to the lawsuit Wednesday evening, and we confirmed that the lawsuit was filed in New Jersey’s Middlesex County.

Reached Thursday morning, Habba sounded hurt and disappointed.

“Na’Syia is someone we love and care about and have for years. Na’Syia had never made a single complaint to anyone until she had decided to quit and ask for an exorbitant amount of money in return. I am disappointed by this lawsuit and the allegations which are simply not true,” she said.

Another racist who didn't have a problem uttering his bullshit, until he was called on it. I'm surprised he didn't call the police and claim the big, scary black man was threatening and attacking him like that piece of shit did to the black birder in Central Park.

A video first uploaded to Instagram shows a confrontation that reportedly took place in a department store in Dallas, Texas, where a Black man accused a store employee of using a racial slur towards him and his family. In the video, the man addresses the employee in a calm, almost empathetic manner.

"You shouldn't do that -- you're too old," the man can be heard telling the employee in the video.

"I would never disrespect any human being," the man continues. "That, what you did -- you don't know the impact of what you've done to my son."

While the audio is sometimes hard to hear, the employee seems to say that he didn't realize the family heard him when he used the slur, to which the man replies that it "doesn't matter" whether he noticed or not. "You shouldn't be speaking that way, period."

Even though they now feel emboldened to let their bigot flags fly there are still plenty of decent people who have no interest in putting up with their shit.

The commissioners of a North Carolina county voted 6-1 to terminate its service contract with the Lake Waccamaw Fire and Rescue Auxiliary after its chief was accused of making racist and homophobic comments at a Mexican restaurant, WECT reports.

An investigation was launched after some of Shannon Worrell's remarks were captured on surveillance video.

On July 24, Worrell and staff members disagreed on gratuity being added to the restaurant bill, saying that he was charged twice since he had already left cash on the table. Restaurant manager Adan Velasquez said that it’s restaurant policy to add gratuity for parties of six or more.

“The first thing I heard was him talking about my manager Adan and about how he was just a sorry [expletive], he was sarcastic and just a piece of [expletive],” said Brianna Smith, an employee at the restaurant.

“After a while, he started saying some racial slurs -- ‘you should’ve died whenever you crossed the river over here,’ ‘we should close the border and send you all back,’” said restaurant manager Adan Velasquez. “After that, it kind of got out of hand, so I had to call the cops to try to get him out of here. His wife had come in here and got him out.”

Worrell addressed the contract’s cancellation and the restaurant incident in a Facebook post on Monday night, according to Columbus County News. He said he had resigned from his position.

"These events that are alleged has nothing to do with LW EMS so I don’t understand why the entire department has to suffer from some of my poor decisions," Worrell wrote. "I would like to conclude by saying I am sorry to the community, all involved, and the department."

Another emboldened racist goes to jail. AFAIC 60 days isn't long enough.

A San Francisco man has been handed a jail sentence for threatening a family wearing Black Lives Matter T-shirts, KTVU reports.

Steven L. Cibotti, 56, was charged with a hate crime over the incident, where he was eating at a restaurant in June of 2020 alongside a family that had just attended a BLM march. The family of five included three children aged seven, five and two who were wearing BLM T-shirts.

Cibotti, who was allegedly intoxicated, approached the table and yelled, "blue lives matter" and pushed their table.

When the family's father told to Cibotti to calm down, he replied, "F*** you, if I had a gun, I would shoot all of you."

"I'm upset that the kids were exposed to that, I'm upset at the effect it's going to have on them. After this, Arlo didn't want to leave the house today because he thinks the guy's going to come back and bring his gun," mother Ciara Doherty told ABC7 News Bay AreaABC7 News Bay Area in 2020.

Cibotti pleaded no contest to a felony hate crime by means of felony threats and was given a suspended sentence of two years' supervised probation, 60 days in jail with one day credit for time served, and 120 hours of public service.

He must also abstain from alcohol and any other controlled substances. He's also barred from having in his possession any weapons or ammunition, and he's been given a no contact order with the victims.

Four Muslims have been murdered in Albaquerque in the past 9 months. One of Trump's good people?

The fourth Muslim man shot to death in Albuquerque in the last nine months reportedly attended a funeral service for two of the other murdered men just hours before he met the same fate.

“Being shot in that brutal manner is just the most un-American thing to do to anybody. Most inhumane thing to do to anybody,” Ehsan Shalami, the brother-in-law of 25-year-old Naeem Hussein, told the Today show on Monday.

Friends found Hussein’s body around midnight Friday in a parking lot east of the city, Shalami said.

“As soon as they touched him he slouched over and fell over,” Shalami explained, adding that his friends said he’d been shot in the head.

The first of the four killings in New Mexico’s biggest city was reported in November 2021, when 62-year-old Mohammad Ahmadi was shot and killed outside a halal cafe. Aftab Hussein, 41, was killed in his apartment complex parking in July.

Then, less than a week later, on Aug. 1, 27-year-old Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, was shot and killed outside his apartment. Hussain had worked on Democratic Rep. Melanie Stansbury’s campaign.

“I am devastated and heartbroken by the news that our community has lost Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, a beloved son and brother, urban planner, and shining light, to senseless gun violence. For those who knew Muhammad, his smile and passion lit up a room,” she said in a statement last week. “I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of working with Muhammad during our Campaign for Congress, where his work as a field organizer for our campaign inspired countless people with his compassion and dedication to working in partnership with our communities, and as one of the kindest and hardest-working people I have ever known.”

Naeem Hussein had recently obtained his U.S. citizenship, and continued driving a truck throughout the pandemic, when others quit, because he thought it was the right thing to do,” his brother-in-law said.

“He was the type of guy literally, that if you asked for his clothes off his back, he would, you know, give him without hesitation. You needed money. You would call him,” Shalami said.

The fourth death came a day after police said they believe Hussain’s death is connected to the previous deaths and that Hussain and Hussein were both members of the same mosque. Authorities are now trying to piece together a link with Ahmadi’s death in November.

The three white men who hunted down and fatally shot Black jogger Ahmaud Arbery were handed hefty sentences Monday for federal hate crimes, adding to the life sentences they’re already serving for murder. Travis McMichael, who made a slew of racist comments and assumptions, including calling Arbery a “fucking n-----” as he lay dying on the road, was given another life sentence, as was his father Gregory. Their accomplice, William Bryant, was given 35 years. Attorneys for all three men requested that they be able to serve their time in federal prison, but were denied by a judge who said she had no power to grant the requests because the trio was tried and sentenced by the state first. Travis McMichael’s lawyer argued that state prison was so dangerous and McMichael had received so many death threats that it would be akin to a “backdoor death penalty.”

Police said they plan to charge 51-year-old Muhammad Syed with murder in the slaying of Aftab Hussein, 41, and Muhammed Afzaal Hussain, 27. Officers are still investigating a possible link between Syed and the fatal shootings of two other men.

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners in Minnesota on Tuesday approved a nearly $1.5 million settlement agreement for eight correctional officers of color who were barred from guarding former police officer Derek Chauvin in 2020.

The correctional officers claimed in a lawsuit last year that the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center prohibited them from “interacting with or guarding Chauvin,” who is White, “or going anywhere” on the floor where he was held in what the suit called a “segregation” order given by the detention center’s superintendent, Steve Lydon.

CNN has reached out to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, which runs the detention center, for comment but has not received a response.

Attorneys for the correctional officers alleged that, as a result of Lydon’s order, all officers of color who were assigned in areas where Chauvin was held were segregated from the ex-cop and reassigned to other locations in the jail. The officers sued for alleged violations of the Minnesota Humans Rights Act.

The $1.455 million settlement was approved during a meeting of Ramsey County Board of Commissioners, in the St. Paul, Minnesota, area.

The settlement agreement noted that the county “has denied and continues to deny liability.” The settlement required that the county issue a statement and apology acknowledging Lydon’s order was “discriminatory and wrong.”

“On behalf of the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners and this entire organization, I extend our profound apologies today to Devin Sullivan, Mohamud Salad, Timothy Ivory, Anabel Herrera, Stanley Hafoka, Nathaniel Gomez-Haustein, Cedric Dodds and Chelsea Cox,” Ramsey County Board Chair Trista MatasCastillo said during Tuesday’s meeting, referring to the correction officers who sued.

“The actions taken by Sheriff’s Office leadership that day were more than just wrong – they were racist, heinous, highly disrespectful and completely out of line with Ramsey County’s vision and values. No one ever should have questioned your ability to perform your job based on the color of your skin,” MatasCastillo read as from a statement.

The eight officers who brought the lawsuit identify as Black, Hispanic, Pacific Islander-American and multiracial, their attorneys said.

Clearly we know what happens when it's white guards and any black suspect.

Republican politicians continue to ramp up the quiet part out loud. Even Republicans who might not say these things out loud don't seem to find that rhetoric to be a disqualifier for an endorsement. Well, at least not until it doesn't play well at which point there's the usual tap dance backward.

Jarrin Jackson, the Republican contender for an Oklahoma state Senate seat, is not shy about his views: He thinks Jews are evil and that being gay is disgusting. His public comments to that effect have been reported on extensively; it only takes a simple Google search to see them.

And yet Kari Lake, the Republican nominee for governor in Arizona, was apparently caught by surprise by Jackson’s bigotry — after she endorsed his campaign for public office. “RINOs & the Soros media attack him relentlessly because he’s over the target,” Lake wrote of Jackson last Wednesday.

The Arizona Republican subsequently claimed over the weekend that she’d only seen Jackson’s résumé as a combat veteran — but apparently not the bit about Jews — before making the endorsement.

“I looked at Jarrin’s resume as (a) Combat Veteran in Afghanistan. It is impossible to dig into everything someone has said in their life. If his reported comments are true, I obviously rescind my endorsement,” Lake told Axios. “I respect Jarrin’s service to our Nation, but clearly denounce that kind of derogatory language.”

Lake added: “Let me be clear: Our great movement welcomes anyone and everyone who wants to fight for a better future.”

Lake is far from the only prominent Republican who has gotten behind the Oklahoman. An endorsement page for the candidate lists the support of Arizona State Sen. Wendy Rogers, Arizona secretary of state nominee state Rep. Mark Finchem, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

Judge Edgar Allen Amos now faces a potential ethics probe, which if substantiated, would call into question every ruling he’s made in local Texas courts. Amos routinely adjudicates cases involving arrests of Spanish-speaking people who fled Mexico and Central America, illegally crossing the U.S. border to find refuge here.

Nuñez’s message generally reflected Gov. Ron DeSantis’ hardline immigration policy, an area of enforcement that is handled by the federal government. But it struck a nerve among some Miami radio listeners, including a growing GOP base of Hispanic voters accustomed to hearing Republicans draw a distinction between migrants fleeing communist regimes and migrants fleeing rampant violence or seeking economic opportunities.

“Those numbers that have come through the border from Cuba, you can be completely sure that where they want to arrive, the final place where they want to go is Florida,” Nuñez said, before comparing the situation to the 1980 Mariel Boatlift: “This is going to be worse than Mariel, worse than everything that happened, the impacts in the 1980s and to not do anything is not an option.”

In defending Nuñez’s statements in English, her staff was quick to draw the distinction between Cubans and other groups of migrants.

“Once again, entering the country illegally and fleeing a dictatorship while seeking asylum are two very, very different things,” tweeted Nikki Whiting, Nuñez’s spokeswoman. “The only reason why the left is fixating on this is because Hispanics are flocking to the Republican Party.”

The group’s unofficial status didn’t stop pissed off parade goers from heckling and recording the men, however.

“You know these guys are racist pieces of shit, you know who they are right?” one man says on the video. “You guys are not welcome here. Not welcome.”

The group donned matching white tees, sunglasses and wore American flag bandanas over their faces, all while holding a massive sign that read, “DEFEND AMERICAN LABOR … CLOSE THE BORDER.” They stayed quiet as parade goers heckled them, though, one member briefly stepped to the front to snap a photo of the sign before the recording cut out.

Amy Cooper, the white woman dubbed “Central Park Karen” after accusing a black bird-watcher of threatening her in 2020, lost a lawsuit against her former employer claiming she was illegally fired and portrayed as a racist.

US District Judge Ronnie Abrams rejected Cooper’s claim on Wednesday that she was defamed when ex-employer Franklin Templeton, a holding company, axed her one day after the viral altercation in Central Park.

Cooper claimed that Franklin Templeton and its chief executive Jenny Johnson perpetuated her image as a “privileged white female ‘Karen’” by making public statements about firing her after conducting an investigation into the incident.

Cooper claimed in her suit that her former employer’s statements, which received over 200,000 likes on Twitter, implied that the company had uncovered details about her alleged racism not evident from the video, but the Manhattan judge disagreed.

“The contents of the viral video, as well as the dialogue surrounding it both in the media and on social media, were already matters of public knowledge,” rendering the defendants’ statements “inactionable as pure opinion,” Abrams wrote in his decision.

Conservative media stars and far-right provocateurs found their latest outrage cycle this week when pop superstar Lizzo thrilled concertgoers by playing a 200-year-old crystal flute once owned by former President James Madison.

Rather than appreciate an accomplished and classically trained flutist showing off a priceless piece of American history to her fans, right-wing pundits seethed that Lizzo’s performance was an act of “soft totalitarianism” meant to “degrade our history.”

This was a solid comeback to the Republican cracker brigade.
