While I enjoy Paski's clever handling of Doocy and jerks like him in the press room I think Biden's "not putting up with your BS" attitude is refreshing.  Why try to dignify the situation when Doocy is not being dignified at all?

With Russian troops steadily massing on the Ukraine border and a looming threat of an invasion that the White House described as “imminent,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson would have you look the other way.

During the episode of his Monday show, Carlson pondered: “Why is it disloyal to side with Russia but loyal to side with Ukraine?” Three years earlier, Carlson admitted that he is rooting for Russia in its conflict with Ukraine. He said, in part: “Why do I care… what is going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? And I’m serious. Why do I care? Why shouldn’t I root for Russia, which I am?”

Facing criticism, Carlson walked back his comments and claimed he was “joking.” In 2022, he is unabashedly pushing the talking points favored by the Kremlin and no longer making excuses. Carlson is going so far to support the Russian propaganda narrative that prominent personalities on the Kremlin-funded state television are concerned about his future in the United States. Last Sunday, one of Russia’s most-watched television networks Channel One played the clip from Carlson’s show, where he argued that Russia’s anger at NATO’s alleged involvement in Ukraine was well-justified. Reporter Ivan Blagoy then noted the Fox News host “is predictably being accused of playing along with Moscow.”

Broadcasting the same translated clip of Carlson last week on Russia’s second most-watched TV network, Rossiya-1, host of 60 Minutes Evgeny Popov fawned over Carlson by describing him as one of the “voices of truth and reason” and complained that the host of the most-watched show in all of cable news with millions of viewers is being “silenced and marginalized.” In 2020, Popov demonstrated his affinity for Carlson by introducing him as “practically our co-host.”

Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo on Monday glossed over the spread of misinformation on Joe Rogan’s Spotify podcast, instead criticizing what he perceived as an overreaction to it by those in media.

“You would have thought Rogan regularly features war criminals on his podcast from the media reaction,” Arroyo told Laura Ingraham, while her Fox News program displayed a chyron that labeled criticism of Rogan as a “witch hunt.”

Faux News is further cementing its position as the Republican Party's propaganda outlet by hiring a piles of Trumpies.

Since the start of President Joe Biden’s term, Fox News has hired at least nine editors who previously worked for former President Donald Trump's administration, Republican campaign offices, or Republican politicians. Many of those editors now cover politics for FoxNews.com.

Fox's Republican hiring spree has come as the network has further cast aside its so-called “news” division in favor of right-wing opinion and Republican-friendly “reporting.” (The division between Fox News’ “opinion” and “news” division has always been a sham.)

Media Matters previously documented that Fox News has also hired numerous Trump administration veterans for on-air and executive roles, including as hosts, contributors, and senior vice presidents. The Trump administration, in turn, hired at least 20 former Fox employees.

Many of the network’s Republican editor hires have been for its digital operation. The Daily Beast reported in December 2020 that “close observers of Fox News’ digital properties note that the main site has skewed even further to the right under” the leadership of former Hannity producer Porter Berry and that FoxNews.com “has leaned more into aggregation of conservative culture-war stories and straight write-ups of commentary delivered on opinion shows like Tucker Carlson Tonight and Hannity. At the same time, the site has been called out for burying or wildly spinning news that is unflattering or negative for Trump.”

Fox News host Dan Bongino aired an inaccurate graphic attempting to make the bogus correlation between “unhealthy” U.S. cities and those governed by Democratic policies.

During the Saturday evening “Unfiltered” segment casting liberals as “unhealthy,” Bongino presented a graphic reading, “Top Ten Most Unhealthy U.S. Cities.”

Yet, it turns out there was one big problem with Bongino’s thesis. The website Bongino’s team cited as the source for the graphic, WalletHub, clearly states in their research that the metropolitan cities referenced, including Seattle, Portland, OR, and Washington, D.C., among others, are the “healthiest places to live in the U.S.” The remarkably erroneous graphic also mistook Irvine, CA, for Irving, TX.

The network attempted clean-up late Saturday night by removing the graphic during a re-run of the program. (Bongino didn't return The Daily Beast’s Sunday morning request for comment.)

The lesson this teaches and which every Afro-American should ponder well, is that a Winchester rifle should have a place of honor in every black home, and it should be used for that protection which the law refuses to give. When the white man who is always the aggressor knows he runs as great a risk of biting the dust every time his Afro-American victim does, he will have greater respect for Afro-American life. The more the Afro-American yields and cringes and begs, the more he has to do so, the more he is insulted, outraged and lynched.

Neil Cavuto has had Covid for a second time.  

For weeks, Fox News host Neil Cavuto was off-screen, and his viewers didn’t really know why.
Until Monday, when Cavuto, who was back in the studio, revealed the cause of his absence: He had tested positive for the coronavirus — again.

Only this time, the virus had sent him to the intensive care unit and nearly killed him, Cavuto told his Fox Business audience. Cavuto has said he is fully vaccinated.

“I did get covid again — but a far, far more serious strand, what doctors call covid pneumonia,” the “Your World” host said. “It landed me in intensive care for quite a while, and it really was touch and go.”

Cavuto, who is immunocompromised, has publicly advocated for vaccines ever since he was infected with the virus in the fall. On Monday, he once again gave credit to the vaccines for his recovery and debunked conspiracy theories that it was the jab that got him sick.

“The vaccine didn’t cause that,” said Cavuto, 63. “… My very compromised immune system did.”
Cavuto, a cancer survivor, was diagnosed in 1997 with multiple sclerosis, a disease that can cause nerve damage, and he underwent open-heart surgery in 2016.

He never was one of those Faux people who say the vaccine is pointless.  I'm guessing his ratings aren't as good as Carlson's though so any pro vaccine message will not be received by many people.

As war in Ukraine looks increasingly likely, the standard-bearers of the far right are tripping over themselves to express their admiration of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and to otherwise defend his unprovoked menacing of the country.

On Monday, Putin ordered troops into breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine, prompting President Joe Biden to slap sanctions on Russian oligarchs and financial entities. A couple dozen European Union members added on their own sanctions, and Biden threatened tougher ones should the invasion progress. It remains unclear if and how Putin will use the 150,000 Russian troops massed on Ukraine’s borders.

In this moment of high tension and stakes, here’s what the American right is contributing to the discourse.

Faux is trying to rewrite the history of Trump's internationally humiliating Putin Puffing.

Fox News is gaslighting the American public about how former President Donald Trump would have handled Russian aggression against Ukraine, claiming Trump had been a stronger leader than President Joe Biden and would have better protected vulnerable countries. In reality, Trump often promoted a foreign policy agenda that aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interests.

The disgraced former president publicly sided with Putin in 2018 against U.S. intelligence officials’ determinations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also reportedly sided with Russia, in conversations with other world leaders, over Russia’s illegal annexation of the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine in 2014. Trump also attempted to extort Ukraine into launching an investigation against then-presidential candidate Biden by withholding military aid vital to their defense against Russia, in a scheme that led to Trump’s first impeachment. (The scheme almost worked, too.)

Trump was also infamously biting toward the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the linchpin of European military security against Russian aggression, calling the organization “obsolete” before being forced to backtrack. Trump publicly wavered in his commitment to NATO's “Article 5” assurances, which bind member states to one another's mutual defense if they were ever to be attacked, before again backtracking.

In Fox News’ alternate reality, none of this happened. Prime-time host Sean Hannity spoke Monday night with Fox News contributor and retired Army Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, who held a number of national security positions in the Trump administration, with the two suggesting that Trump had been a stronger leader against Russia.

Faux personalities are all in with Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Tuckums in particular is mouthing all of Putin's arguments about Ukraine.

As Russia began an invasion into Ukraine, the Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday night welcomed a call in to her show from the former President Donald J. Trump, who blamed the military strike on the “weakness and the incompetence” of the Biden administration.

Tucker Carlson, Fox News’s top-rated host, questioned why Americans hated President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia in a segment on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, he labeled Ukraine “a pure client state of the United States State Department.”

On Wednesday night, Ms. Ingraham bumped her guest, the journalist Glenn Greenwald, to speak with Mr. Trump. She described a speech by President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine imploring Mr. Putin not to invade as “a really pathetic display.”

But the news division has at least one person who is not in line with the highly rated talkers.

Jennifer Griffin, Fox News’s national security correspondent, said in a report on Wednesday night that Russia’s attack was “a full-scale invasion.”

“The way in which Putin is describing Ukraine, he is describing it as an existential threat to Russia,” Ms. Griffin said. “This is a figment of his imagination. This is a man — if you look in his eyes, you see someone who has gone completely mad.”

As Russian forces closed in on Ukraine, Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday downplayed the conflict that was about to explode half a world away.

The host of the network’s top-rated show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” called the situation between the two nations “a border dispute.” He asked his viewers to question why they should hate Russian President Vladimir Putin. A day later, as a guest on another Fox News show, “The Ingraham Angle,” he echoed a Kremlin talking point about Ukraine being a puppet of the West, saying that Ukraine wasn’t a democracy but “essentially managed by the [U.S.] State Department.”

Hours later, Russia invaded Ukraine in the largest military ground conflict in Europe since World War II.
On Thursday night, Carlson backpedaled, recharacterizing what he had called a “border dispute” two days earlier as a conflict that “could become a world war.”

“It’s a tragedy, because war always is a tragedy, and the closer you get to it, the more horrifying it seems,” he said.
Carlson also shifted his tone on Putin. After Russian troops had invaded and were bombing Ukrainian cities, Carlson said of Putin: “He is to blame for what we’re seeing tonight in Ukraine.”

“Vladimir Putin started this war, so whatever the context of the decision that he made, he did it,” he said. “He fired the first shots.”

On Tuesday, Carlson had said that hating Putin had become “the central purpose of America’s foreign policy.”

“It might be worth asking yourself, since it is getting pretty serious, ‘What is this really about? Why do I hate Putin so much?’” he said. “‘Has Putin ever called me a racist? Has he threatened to get me fired for disagreeing with him?’"

Carlson’s Tuesday comments were criticized as “dangerous” by one lawmaker. Putin has jailed opposition candidates and been accused of poisoning dissidents on foreign soil even after they’ve spent years living abroad.

On Thursday, Carlson told his viewers Putin “clearly does deserve to be punished” for invading Ukraine.

Will his loyal audience notice and change their opinion of him?  I doubt it because that would be disloyal and loyalty is key to the psyche of these folks.

His hero Orban of Hungary has condemned the invasion in the last 24 hours.  So maybe that plus someone in the Murdoch Org told him to shut it down. He was getting negative attention and their own news end of the organization was telling the straight scoop mostly.

At least one Fox News division employee is working to correct the misrepresentations & lies of Fox pundits, including so called military experts.

Fox’s Jennifer Griffin seems to have almost completely lost patience with all of it.

The Washington Post’s Jeremy Barr reported Friday on how the network’s respected longtime national security correspondent has repeatedly found herself in the position of fact-checking her network’s hosts and pundits. And it continued this weekend, with Griffin apparently becoming even more exasperated. She even went so far as to seemingly question the platform her employer has afforded some fringe figures.

On Saturday, retired Brig. Gen. Don Bolduc appeared on Steve Hilton’s show and leaned into more of a military presence.
“This is not a time for pause right now,” Bolduc said. “We need to get in there, and we need to help them on the ground. … But we’re just sitting back and we’re not doing anything.”

When pressed on exactly what he advocated, Bolduc said he was calling for “indirect fire” and “not boots on the ground, but putting great technical help on the ground.”

Soon, Griffin appeared and suggested that Bolduc wasn’t qualified to talk about the things he had been invited to talk about.
“I have to respond to something your previous guest, Brigadier General Bolduc, said, because he really was way off the mark in terms of talking about what the U.S. could do on the ground,” she began. She cited the fact that Putin has nuclear weapons, which is “why the U.S. military and NATO do not have troops on the ground inside Ukraine.”

She concluded: “Clearly, Brigadier General Bolduc is not a student of history; he’s a politician, he ran for Senate in New Hampshire and failed. He’s not a military strategist, and to suggest that the U.S. would put indirect fire or special operations or CIA on the ground to give Putin any sort of excuse to broaden this conflict is extremely dangerous talk at a time like this.”


By Sunday, Griffin appeared after as segment with retired Col. Douglas Macgregor, who went to the opposite extreme. He argued that the United States should “absolutely” just let Putin take what he wants in Ukraine — even calling for lifting sanctions. Macgregor said he was sure that Putin had “no interest in crossing the west” of Ukraine and would settle for the east. He cited Ukraine’s history of corruption and said that “more important, the population there is indistinguishable from [Russia’s] own.”

Griffin came on and declared that she needed to correct Macgregor, “and I’m not sure that 10 minutes is enough time to do so, because there were so many distortions in what he just said.”

I remember when Tuckums used to at least try to be clever about his lies and racism. That really has just fallen away over the past few years. I don't even know what he's trying to do here other than perhaps get his low IQ audience to bob their heads up and down, mouths open and drool dripping, over something they don't remotely understand. F***, most can't even spell LSAT.
