I think of Lee Atwater when he talked about how they could no longer yell n*** and had to be more subtle about it.  We are getting close to returning to his good old days.  Carlson stops just short of saying no Black person could ever be smart enough to get into Harvard or Harvard law.

Ironically, I think Carlson's sort of statements are part of what drives Justice Thomas to dislike affirmative action.  Somehow he believes that without the stigma of affirmative action has, his accomplishments would just be his individual accomplishments made without the aid of anyone or anything.  I think he's naive in that belief.

Pffft. I don’t know of too many employers who give a rat’s ass about test needed to get into (undergrad/grad school/med school/law school) once the relevant degree was obtained. Case in point: When yours truly was job-shopping as my doctoral defense approached, I can recall exactly ZERO inquiries about my GRE scores.

But the knuckle-draggers don’t know that…

I seem to remember when Sotomayor's nomination came out, one of the GOP benchmarks was the number of her decisions that were reversed by the SCOTUS.  If I remember, three out of five were reversed, thus showing ineptitude on her part, because 60% of her decisions were overturned.  Overlooking the fact the REST of her total decisions were NEVER appealed. 

This time, its another "factor".

Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued during his show last night that Democrats were angling for a war against Russia when they impeached Trump because they were trying to punish him for “failing to back a proxy war in Ukraine” (actually, what happened was Trump tried to withhold military aid to Ukraine in exchange for dirt on Biden, but okay Tucker).

• Carlson also blamed Republicans, who he claimed didn’t speak out against the impeachment because they wanted war too, “Maybe even more than the Democrats did.” Dun dun dun!

• Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) also is trying to blame Russia’s Ukraine invasion on those involved in Trump’s first impeachment, including retired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s just asking questions about Russia’s latest conspiracy theory — bioweapon labs in Ukraine — that’s found a home in U.S. right-wing circles. But he doesn’t seem to like the answers he’s getting from people who actually know things.

After Fox News defense reporter Jennifer Griffin debunked the Kremlin’s lab claims on air Wednesday night and Thursday, Carlson popped off during his show later on Thursday, slamming the “Pentagon talking points you saw reported as fact on television today and last night” and journalists who “didn’t bother to do any reporting whatsoever.”

“They got a text from some Biden administration flack and they just read it on the air like it was true,” the Fox News host fumed. “You shouldn’t be surprised, because that’s what they do.”

“And it’s possible they’re afraid not to do that,” he added. “They know if they stray from the script the White House has written for them, they’ll be denounced from the briefing room as tools of Putin.”

A few minutes later, Carlson ranted again about reporters who “scold anyone for asking legitimate questions” and “attack” them as tools of Russia.

Though Carlson never identified these allegedly crooked reporters by name, his tirade came the day after Griffin appeared on Fox News host Sean Hannity’s show and debunked with a Pentagon fact sheet the biolabs conspiracy theory that Carlson had been “just asking questions”-ing before her appearance that night.

Thursday night wasn’t the first time Carlson seemingly lashed out at Griffin.

On Tuesday last week, the Fox News host had Ret. Col. Douglas MacGregor on his show, which was several days after Griffin slammed MacGregor’s Putin-friendly “distortions” of Russia’s war on Ukraine during his appearance on Fox. MacGregor sounded like an “apologist” for Putin, Griffin said.

An indignant Carlson defended MacGregor several days later with an apparent swipe at Griffin.

So we saw Tuckum's racist demand for Ketanji Brown Jackson's LSAT scores because, you now, it's a standard for all previous Supreme Court nominees. Note that none of these educational accomplishments matter.

She received a bachelor's degree in government, magna cum laude, and a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard University in 1992 and 1996, respectively. She served as the supervising editor of the Harvard Law Review from 1995 to 1996.

After college, Carlson tried to join the Central Intelligence Agency, but his application was denied, after which he decided to pursue a career in journalism with the encouragement of his father, who advised him that "they'll take anybody"

Tuckums, himself, admitted that he spent most of his college years drunk. No wonder he's such a good fit for Faux News.

Tucker Carlson is a Russian asset. How do we know? The Russians said so, clear as a bell.

On March 3, as Russian military forces bombed Ukrainian cities as part of Vladimir Putin’s illegal invasion of his neighbor, the Kremlin sent out talking points to state-friendly media outlets with a request: Use more Tucker Carlson.

“It is essential to use as much as possible fragments of broadcasts of the popular Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sharply criticizes the actions of the United States [and] NATO, their negative role in unleashing the conflict in Ukraine, [and] the defiantly provocative behavior from the leadership of the Western countries and NATO towards the Russian Federation and towards President Putin, personally,” advises the 12-page document written in Russian. It sums up Carlson’s position: “Russia is only protecting its interests and security.” The memo includes a quote from Carlson: “And how would the US behave if such a situation developed in neighboring Mexico or Canada?”

Carlson also now insists that the Biden administration's failure to intervene in a timely manner, as well as progressive environmental politics, were ultimately responsible for Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Putin has received little more than a passing condemnation from Fox News’ most influential voice.

The Ukrainian people are fighting for their lives and their country, facing a military superpower. Their enemy has never shied away from committing war crimes or brutalizing civilian populations in order to achieve objectives. (Reports of crimes against civilians and the use of banned weapons have already emerged in Ukraine.) The battles for Ukraine have already been bloody, and will almost certainly result in more devastation and loss of life. Carlson’s scramble to reset his commentary on Putin and outrun his past defense of the Russian regime's actions points back to a simple axiom: Tucker Carlson will defend the indefensible up until the moment he faces consequences.

Wow, somebody went too far even for Brian Killfacts Kilmeade. I guess this goes back to a post I put up elsewhere on things not playing so well when there are images of detonated children popping up all over the place. Filling in for regular Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt, Campos-Duffy repeatedly claimed that Russia’s “red line” was the possibility of Ukraine becoming a member of NATO, suggesting that the U.S. had brought this upon Ukraine by considering expanding the alliance.

“If you look at that map and the areas that have say could end up in a peace agreement, that’s true,” she declared. “That’s why we should have never provoked them. They made very clear there was a red line. The red line was a neutrality for Ukraine. That they could not enter NATO.”

Well yeah.  It was only a matter of time before they adopted "it's America's fault" line that Putin espouses.  Makes me wonder where the Republicans that used to complain that Democrats "blamed America first" have disappeared to.  Will the next Republican presidential nominee go on an "apology tour" to Putin and maybe Xi?
