All sorts of "experts" are pointing fingers at President Biden for the tragedy that is unfolding in Afghanistan as our troops are withdrawn. Shouldn't they, instead, be pointing fingers at the military for its assurances that the Afghan military could defend the country? The state of that organization, we now learn, was poorly supplied (internally), its numbers were vastly overestimated, and its morale was in the basement. Given the nature of Afghan culture and government with its severe corruption, that was unlikely to be corrected. My impression is that the military leadership wanted to stay another twenty years and do the Afghan government's work behind the scenes.

Yeah instead of figuring out what really happened in Afghanistan over the last 20 years it's much easier to play some sort of instant blame game. Biden is in the office of the President so it must be his fault. The war was a money maker for some companies and it gave the military a reason to lobby for increased amounts of money for their departments.
And didn't the Trump Administration negotiate the withdrawal anyway with withdrawal at the end of May 2021? See LFC's post in Fox News thread on the Chris Wallace interview of Pompeo.
