Denver police and prosecutors are pursuing a rape case against a man who served as the music director at St. John's School and church in southeast Denver, according to a CBS News Colorado investigation.

Diego Marroquin, 36, is facing one charge of sexual assault on a child under the age of 15 by a person in a position of trust. He allegedly raped a 13-year-old female student from the school on a balcony overlooking the church in May of 2022. 

I'm assuming he wasn't in drag reading stories to kids at the local libraries so he's OK.  Not a groomer at all using his position of trust to lure the 13 year old in.  She was just an evil child who took advantage of him.

A 60-year-old man who formerly volunteered with a church youth ministry has received a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 20 years for raping and committing other sex offenses against two girls.

Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Judge Michael J. Ernest sentenced Jeffrey A. Pringle Thursday on three counts of child rape and four counts of gross sexual imposition.

The judge said the life sentence was mandatory under state law, and that he had discretion only in deciding when parole eligibility would occur.

One victim was 12 and 13 years old when the sexual abuse occurred, and the other 16, according to Tuscarawas County Prosecutor Ryan Styer.

And then the fake contrition. Bonus blasphemy points for claiming to know the mind of God(tm), which I thought was a big no-no.

Given the chance to speak on his own behalf, Pringle expressed regret.

"I don't want anybody to feel bad about me going to prison," he said. "I feel like a failure."

He said he applauded his victims for reporting the sexual abuse to their mother.

"If other children would do the same, we wouldn't have as many cases as we have in the state of Ohio," Pringle said.

Pringle said he would continue his college education in prison in the hope of setting up a mission to help others with crimes similar to his own.

"I did ask God for mercy ... and He has forgiven me," he said.

A former church deacon in Moscow is facing a federal charge of possession of child pornography. Alex Lloyd, indicted after police discovered his iPhone contained graphic images of the illegal material. The content of this report may be disturbing to some. After a lengthy investigation led by Moscow Police, Christ Church is speaking out about this indictment.

On April 19, former Christ Church Deacon Alex Lloyd was indicted in federal court for Possession of Child Pornography on his iPhone. Lloyd was discovered to have been in possession of images of a prepubescent minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct, Title 18 of the U.S. Code defining that as a child under the age of 12.

The cover-up. Well, not quite. More like the soft-pedaling, but still immoral and vile. The blaming of "culture" is unforgivable. This is how Christianity has relinquished its moral authority among so many in our country, including so many young people.

KLEW News reached out to Christ Church for comment, who released their first statement on the matter in response. They allege this incident began back in January when Lloyd was brought into questioning in regard to these charges. He was picked up at the police department by Pastor Doug Wilson, where Christ Church became aware of what they called ‘a porn habit.’

Lloyd resigned from his role as deacon and was officially removed from office by January 18.

Christ Church later stating quote, “With regard to the criminal charges that were filed, to which Alex has pled not guilty, we are content to let the court do its work. With regard to the other surrounding sins by which Alex disqualified himself, humiliated his family, and embarrassed his church, he has sought our forgiveness and we have extended it.”

The Church would later say they ‘regard this tragic episode as one more casualty in the unconscionable pornification of our culture.’

Police say an Evansville man has been arrested again for sex crimes against children.

21-year-old Joshua Leduc was arrested Wednesday night. He’s charged with child seduction and child molesting.

Leduc was arrested last year after police say he molested a young child several times while he worked as a pre-school teacher at Bethel United Church of Christ.

According to the new arrest affidavit, a victim was interviewed at Holly’s House late last week.

Investigators say the young girl described how she was also molested last year by Leduc, who was her teacher.

Leduc had been out on bond while facing charges connected to the first victim.

The first case linked above is horrific.

On August 1, a four-year-old preschool student at Bethel United Church of Christ Preschool was with her mother, recounting her school day.

That was when things took a turn according to police and Bethel United Church of Christ Lead Pastor Sam Buehrer.

“We got a call from a parent on Monday evening, saying her child came home saying something that sounded... awkward,” says Buehrer.

The affidavit describes the child recounting to her mother multiple accounts of sexual abuse allegedly from her teacher, 20-year-old Joshua Leduc.

Leduc had been a teacher at Bethel United Church of Christ Preschool for nearly two years.

Wait, so they made him a pre-school teacher at age 18? Seriously?

Daviess County authorities have charged a Hamilton woman with seven felony counts of sex crimes with a child.

It is alleged that twenty-nine-year-old Anastasia Dawson engaged in illicit activity with the minor while she was the victim’s church leader. A probable cause statement issued by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says Dawson later paid the victim to work on her farm and tend to her children, during which the victim began to stay overnight at the residence.

The allegations are said to have taken place between September 1st of last year until this past Tuesday, when Dawson helped the victim run away from home.

I wonder if Indiana law exempts church run preschools from their licensing requirements.  At least an AA in early childhood education is required in CA.

This is horrific. At this point I'd be vastly less worried about leaving a child with a drag queen than with a "Christian pastor", especially a youth pastor. The corruption and criminality is hardly limited to the Catholic Church.

A lesbian couple in Maryland says that the director of a daycare center left them a disturbing anti-LGBTQ+ voicemail message in which she spoke in tongues.

Kelly and Ky Gibbs say they removed their child from Rising Generations Early Learning Center in Prince George County, Maryland, after receiving a voicemail from the center’s director, Kimesha Munford, who is also the daughter of the center’s owners.

The Gibbses both describe the voicemail, which Kelly received in the wee hours of the morning in February, as “disturbing.” In the message, which the couple shared with local Fox affiliate WTTG, Munford claims to be a prophet, urges the couple to split up, and even speaks in tongues.

“Hi Mrs. Gibbs, this is Ms. Kimesha from Rising Generation. I’m so sorry to be calling you this late and to be calling you from my personal private cell phone, but I had to call to let you know that I’m a prophet and God often speaks to me through dreams and visions,” Munford said in the voicemail. “And the word of the Lord says that God wants you and your wife to split up and I am so sorry to have to tell you this… [speaking incoherently] I also speak in tongues, I pray in tongues.”

I don't that speaking in tongues is a sure sign of mental illness...there is a weird sort of group contagion that creates that.  I'm far more concern that the woman is saying God is talking to her about a particular couple...that should be reported to the day care management and maybe the state agency that licenses day care facilities.

The owners of this church certainly make it clearly what they worship, and that's money.

Churchome, the Washington state megachurch led by Judah Smith and his wife Chelsea, has been slapped with a class action lawsuit for allegedly imposing a tithing policy on employees, in violation of state law, that requires them to give back no less than 10% of their gross earnings to the church or face disciplinary action, including termination.

One employee allegedly claimed that he was so committed to abiding by the policy he chose to sell his house during a financially difficult period so that he could afford to keep up with Churchome's policy.

The lawsuit, a 44-page complaint filed last Tuesday in the King County Superior Court of Washington, was filed on behalf of Churchome employee Rachel Kellogg and at least 100 other employees affected by the policy during the last three years.

It names Judah Smith, Churchome's lead communicator, his wife Chelsea, the church's lead theologian, and Chief Executive Officer David Kroll as defendants.

"Defendants have engaged in a systemic scheme of wage and hour abuse against their employees, including the requirement that all employees rebate ten percent of their gross earned wages back to Defendants in the form of tithes on a monthly basis or face actual or threatened pressure, discipline, or termination," Kellogg's complaint says.

Churchome did not immediately respond to questions about the lawsuit from The Christian Post Monday. Kellogg's attorneys, Toby J. Marshall and Jasmin Rezaie‐Tirabadi of the Terrell Marshall Law Group PLLC, contend in the complaint that the conduct of the Smiths and Kroll violate Washington's Wage Rebate Act and the state's Consumer Protection Act.

"Plaintiff and Class members are current and former Churchome employees who have been victimized by Defendants' unlawful compensation practices, unfair or deceptive acts or practices, and unfair methods of competition," the complaint insists. "This lawsuit is brought as a class action under Washington law to recover unlawfully rebated wages, which must be returned to Plaintiff and those similarly situated."

The complaint also alleges that the defendants enacted the tithing policy "in pursuit of financial gain or livelihood" for themselves as well as their "marital community."
