My "perfect" Saturday so far:
0800: "Can you get the steamer so I can steam clean the kitchen floor ?"
0815: "Can you vacuum the floor first ?"
0820: "The rugs have to be shaken outside." (I actually slam them against the pavement as I learned from my Italian grandmother)
0820-0900 Get the floor scrubber and wash/clean the kitchen floor. (Wife: "You don't have to clean the floor." Me: "Sure.")
0900-0930 Vegging out in preparation of making some sauce for the Lasagna Love Lasagnas

I'm accepting the fact its not even noon, the heat index is about 90 and we have a Dew Point of 72.
Silent Summer - a never-ending heat wave, devoid of birdsong, insect hum, and all the weird and wonderful living noises that subconsciously keep us company.

Gertrude Stein Our official high, just over 300 miles to the north and west of Miami (and many miles from either the Atlantic or the Gulf) was 94. All that water around Miami-Ft. Lauderdale has a moderating effect on the air temps. We can be closing in on triple digits in the north central part of the state, and they’re checking in at 90-92…at least at the official station relatively close to the Atlantic. Even 8-10 miles inland, the temps can be about 5 degrees warmer. |
