Many years ago, an older Sergeant told us: "Just because they don't speak English doesn't mean they're stupid." This is a condensation of a NYT article. Rest of it is paywalled to me. The article also noted how Hamas found a sunken WWI English ship and is actually using the munitions on it. Case in point: Significant number of Hamas weapons come from IDF duds, NYT reportsHamas gets a “significant number” of its weapons from IDF duds, reports The New York Times, citing Israeli and Western intelligence officials, and a former senior Israeli police officer. Intelligence gleaned during the ongoing war in Gaza has helped Israel understand that it badly underestimated the number of rockets and other explosives Hamas was able to create from munitions that failed to detonate. One Western military official says that most of Hamas’s explosives used in the war have come from unexploded IDF shells and missiles. An Israeli intelligence officer tells NYT that the failure rate for IDF munitions fired into Gaza could be as high as 15 percent.

I wonder what's causing the high failure rate. Aren't many (most?) of those weapons coming from the U.S.?

This is never gonna end: Israel launches major operation in West Bank. I'm not at all surprised that there are terrorists seeded in among the civilian population there that are carrying out operations in the state of Israel. But I know there are lots of ultra orthodox "settlers" there that would love to expand their settlements too. Netanyahu is on track to increase the world wide condemnation of Israeli actions which will work to Israel's disadvantage in the future. Will he not be happy until Iran and the rest of the Middle East is inflamed and at war? Will the rest of the world shrug and refuse to aid the country?

A war in the Middle East is in our future. It's been coming for almost an entire year.
