Rep. Madison Cawthorn suffered further humiliation on Thursday after calling for a "Dark MAGA" movement to defeat "cowardly and weak" Republicans.

Cawthorn's comments came to days after he became the youngest Republican congressman to lose a primary.

"There are other National figures who I believe are patriots, but I am on a mission now to expose those who say and promise one thing yet legislate and work towards another, self-profiteering, globalist goal. The time for gentile (sic) politics as usual has come to an end," he wrote. "It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command."

"We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming," he threatened.

Cawthorn's statement generated a great deal of commentary online.

Palin revealed her dealings with Scottsdale-based El Dorado Holdings in disclosures she made to the House clerk’s office as part of her bid for Alaska’s vacant congressional district. The filings show that the one-time Republican vice-presidential hopeful holds stakes worth as much as half a million dollars in a pair of limited liability companies El Dorado controls.

The Palin campaign did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

El Dorado became the epicenter of national controversy when a U.S. Fish and Wildlife field supervisor claimed in 2019 that he’d come under politically motivated pressure from then-President Donald Trump’s Department of the Interior to reverse his position on permitting requirements for a 28,000-unit planned development in Benson, Arizona. In May of this year, the House Committee on Natural Resources sent a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, urging it to investigate what Chairman Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) described as a case of “criminal bribery.”

A major newspaper in Rep. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) home state is joining in on the laughs after the Jan. 6 Select Committee aired security footage of the GOP congressman fleeing from insurrectionists as they stormed the Capitol.

In an editorial published Saturday, the Kansas City Star knocked Hawley as a “laughingstock” over the Jan. 6 video that shows him sprinting away from the mob of Trump supporters who breached the Capitol. The editorial board said the video will “surely follow him the rest of his life.”

“Shame, clearly, is not a motivating factor for any number of Republicans still caught up in Trumpworld,” the Star wrote.

The Star pointed to the comic relief that social media users found in the video that the Jan. 6 Select Committee aired of Hawley last week. The Star then condemned Hawley for being a “fleeing coward” on the day of the Capitol insurrection after pushing the Big Lie of a stolen 2020 presidential election.

“We said that day Hawley has blood on his hands for his role in perpetuating the lies that drove thousands of people to violence,” the Star wrote. “That remains true.”

The board noted that Hawley has never apologized for his efforts to secure a second term for former President Trump even as witness testimony continues to confirm that there was no widespread election fraud that would have changed the results of the election.

“Watching Hawley racing away from the Capitol invaders struck so many people as blackly hilarious,” the Star wrote. “Saluting the Trump posse was politically expeditious for him before the siege began.”

The Star slammed Hawley once again for boosting Trump’s bogus claims because once the GOP congressman realized that his own safety was compromised on Jan. 6, he “hotfooted it away from ‘his’ people.”

“Where’s that fist in the air now?” the Star wrote.

The Kansas City Star’s scathing editorial comes a day after another newspaper in Hawley’s home state, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, tore into the GOP congressman in response to the Jan. 6 video.

Matt Gaetz, a man that has to pay for sex, got into a back and forth with a teenage girl and, in true sphincter Matt form, mocked her weight. The exchange helped the teen raise $115,000 for abortion rights support. Great job, Matt! You managed to make yourself look even more weak and pathetic!

Speaking at the Turning Point USA summit in Florida on Saturday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) mocked abortion rights activists with some good old-fashioned misogyny.

“Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions? Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb,” the congressman said.

“These people are odious from the inside out,” he added. “They’re like 5’2″, 350 pounds.”

It’s a familiar line of attack from Gaetz. In May, he derided abortion right protesters as “over-educated, under-loved millennials who sadly return from protests to a lonely microwave dinner with their cats, and no Bumble matches.”

(Speaking of Gaetz’ standards, the congressman is currently under federal investigation for alleged sex trafficking involving a teenager).

Olivia Julianna, a 19-year-old abortion rights activist at the nonprofit Gen-Z for Change, dragged Gaetz via Twitter on Sunday.

“Its [sic] come to my attention that Matt Gaetz — alleged pedophile— has said that it’s always the ‘odious.. 5’2 350 pound’ women that ‘nobody wants to impregnate’ who rally for abortion,” she tweeted. “I’m actually 5’11. 6’4 in heels. I wear them so the small men like you are reminded of your place.”

Gaetz responded by tweeting Julianna’s profile picture with a Newsmax article on his comments about abortion rights activists’ looks.

Julianna fired back by asking the congressman a pertinent question: “Am I not a little too old for you Matt? I know you have a thing for targeting teenagers but 19 is on the cusp don’t you think?”

And then she saw an opportunity in the attention Gaetz, with his 1.4 million Twitter followers, had directed her way.

“In honor of Matt Gaetz publicly body shaming me, I’ll be fundraising for the @genzforchange abortion fund,” the teen activist tweeted with a link to the fundraiser on Monday night. “The Gen-Z for Choice fund splits donations across states where services are most needed.”

The donations came pouring in, and 24 hours later, Julianna thanked Gaetz for helping her raise an extra $50,000.

Several hours later, the activist reported on Tuesday night that the fundraiser had reached a staggering $115,000.

Back in October of 2019 Gaetz was caught on a hot mic telling Roger Stone that Trump would pardon him if he was convicted. And, of course, he was and was.

• During the conversation, Gaetz said he was cautious about saying too much because “there are many, many recording devices around right now” (people speaking at the Trump event were being filmed). He was recorded by a mic Stone was wearing for a Danish documentary crew.

Viewers may have surmised that Oz’s video plugging TruBiotics was, essentially, an ad. What they were not aware of, however, is that Oz was a member of the board of directors of the brand’s parent company, PanTheryx. He holds a stake in the business worth as much as $1 million.

The full extent of Oz’s financial relationship with PanTheryx—along with several other health supplement companies—has been revealed for the first time thanks to personal financial disclosure forms he was required to file as a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.

In several other instances, Oz’s platforms boosted PanTheryx products without disclosing Oz’s personal financial relationship to the company. In 2018, for example, videos ran on the Dr. Oz Show website that were sponsored by DiaResQ, another PanTheryx supplement. None of the PanTheryx products Oz plugged were approved by the Food and Drug Administration; one study found DiaResQ was “no better than a placebo.”

In his forms, Oz disclosed that, from 2017 to December 2021—when he launched his campaign for Senate—he was a member of the board of PanTheryx. As of February, Oz is a consultant for the company, according to his disclosure form, and is set to be awarded with over 700,000 shares of restricted stock in the company in return for three years of work.

In 2019, a press release from PanTheryx announced Oz was joining the board of the company. But viewers of Oz’s promotional content likely wouldn’t have known the doctor had a direct financial stake in whether they bought or sold the product whose benefits Oz was extolling.

Oz has long used his platform—and the trust of his audience—to hawk specific products, though he has claimed in the past that he has never personally profited from that activity. Under oath at a U.S. Senate committee hearing in 2014, Oz testified that he “never” endorses “one specific brand” and that “doctors shouldn’t endorse.”

But according to Arthur Caplan, a leading medical ethics expert at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Oz’s actions in this case represent a “mountain of a conflict of interest.”

“It’s one thing to say, ‘I have commercials on my show that advertise products and I’m going to flag that.’ It’s very different to say, ‘Take this, and I’m not going to tell you, I own it,” Caplan said. “You simply cannot do what he’s disclosing he did.”

“It’s not illegal,” Caplan continued, “but certainly, ethically, it’s completely dubious.”

The American Medical Association’s code of ethics discourages physicians from selling or being paid to endorse any health products beyond medication. If they choose to do so, the AMA says physicians have an ethical obligation to disclose “the nature of their financial interest in the sale of the product(s),” among other things.

The Oz campaign didn’t respond to requests for comment from The Daily Beast, which included questions about his business arrangements with companies whose products he promoted.
