I'm not remotely close to a closet communist but it still sounds good to me. Certainly better than what the Republicans are offering.

The far left calls me a neoliberal. The far right calls me a commie. Mostly what I see is that the economic system that we have been pursuing for the past few decades is unsustainable and we need to consider alternatives. While I am in favor of a return to the progressivism of the past, I see other issues looming on the horizon. The approach of what many are calling "The Post Work Society" is going to start throwing bigger and bigger monkey wrenches in the works. Even if you stop tinkle down economics you will still have the problem of fewer and fewer decent paying job to support a consumer based economy. I am convinced that we will need a variety of solutions as things progress and change.
I am still struggling with what economic model would best satisfy the needs our society in these changing times. I often link to various articles that explore current thought, even if I do not fully buy it, in order to spark conversation about it. Poking and prodding them by this board gives me more grist to chew.
