Well, it looks like Garland took the gloves off. Now that the list of classified info just came out, including nukes, the POG doesnt know what to do. They had a very bad week so far. Partly why I am back.

Finally came out of a funk, politics wise. The forces of evil might have finally overreached, so wanted to share the fun (?).

Mike Pence is fascist-lite.
Notice how he defends the police, not the rule of law. Lawbreaking by his side and wildly corrupt ex-boss is just hunky, dory.

CPAC flexes its fascism. The instant Republicans gain the White House again they will go hammer and tongs at replacing everybody in the federal government who is not a sycophant with their own lap dogs. And the only thing standing in their way would be an utterly partisan, inconsistent, corrupt Supreme Court. I bet Roberts is thrilled about all of what is being "accomplished" by the "Roberts Court." Should democracy survive in America his name, to a fair degree deservedly so, will be a stain on American history.

These people are literally insane. They have lost all touch with reality. They are the very people who burned and drowned witches, burned and tortured "heretics", and gleefully went to war over ... whatever. Their righteousness allows them to excuse all manner of immorality on their own side.

But this other brain eating disease is more dangerous. A meth zombie on the streets has seldom anything more than a knife or self-made spear. The other braindead out in the rural areas usually has more guns than empty beer cans.

Time to update the poem?
It was six journalists of Mediastan To learning much inclined, Who went to see the GOP Elephant Though all of them were blind, That each by observation Might satisfy his mind.
The First approached the Elephant And, happening to fall Against his broad and sturdy side, At once began to bawl: "God bless me, but the Elephant Is very like a Big Beautiful Wall!"
The Second, feeling the tusk, Cried, "Ho! what have we here So very round and smooth and sharp? To me 'tis very clear This wonder of an Elephant Is very like an AR-15 with bayonet for queers!"
The Third approached the animal And, happening to take The squirming trunk within his hands, Thus boldly up he spake: "I see," quoth he, "The Elephant Is very like a pipeline, for oil to take!"
The Fourth reached out an eager hand, And felt about the knee: "What most the wondrous beast is like Is very plain," quoth he; "Tis clear enough the Elephant Is very like a cross to burn at a Klan rally!"
The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear, Said, "Even the blindest man Can tell what this resembles most; Deny the fact who can: This marvel of an elephant Is very like a parchment with an insurrection plan!"
The Sixth no sooner had begun About the beast to grope Then, seizing on the swinging tail That fell within his scope, "I see," quoth he, "the Elephant Is very like a slave master's whip and rope!"
And so these talking heads of Mediastan Disputed loud and long, Each in his own opinion Exceeding stiff and strong. Though each was partly in the right, None of their conclusions were in the wrong!
So, oft in political wars The disputants, I ween, Rail on in utter ignorance Of what each other mean, And prate about the mythical GOP Whose totality none one of them have seen!

DeSatanist is pure fascist. Trump is more pure greed and the fascism came along for the ride as the best way to grift.

Calling for the incarceration of a political enemy who has done nothing illegal is sooooo 2016. Now the crazies need a stronger dose to get their high and that means literally calling for the execution of those you don't like. Outright calling for or at least sharing cartoons / memes about execution is now normalized within the GOP. The last step before actually doing it is to call for public execution but that's a baby step from where they are now.
Sure. He wasn't serious. He fed his base the drugs they craved and then tries to step back. I'm actually surprised they're still even trying. Aside from that comment his defense literally boils down to "he's an ex-president." Yes, an ex-president you very well may have stolen nuclear weapons secrets. If he defends that then he's no real American. (Spoiler Alert: He's not.)

The fascist Federalist Society who has given us the current crop of results oriented justices, including several deemed flat out unqualified, just received a massive amount of money to continue their assault on democracy. The American oligarchs continue to push our nation towards being more like Russia where they can do almost anything they wish without all those pesky laws and regulations that benefit the serfs at their expense.

Little Lindsey clearly things he'd look snappy goose stepping in a black SS uniform and those shiny leather knee high boots. "Political whore" doesn't even begin to tap into the bad places this kind of behavior comes from.

Lawrence O'Donnell covered this story by starting with Little Lindsey's bootlicking history and the historically awful low Lindsey hit by "predicting" violence over prosecution of actual criminal acts. To see a highly likely explanation watch at least 9:45-12:20. Lindsey is likely scared of what the FBI might discover about his own personal knowledge of and/or involvement in Trump's theft of classified documents. It's the same reason he's dodging the grand jury in Georgia. He's been up to his little ears in traitorous, fascist, and likely illegal activity and he's scared.

A series of questions about Biden's speech last night.
1. Why didn't ABC, CBS, or NBC cover it live? 2. No major editorials on it really from either WaPo or NYT. Why? 3. Partisan speech or not? Does it matter? 4. Why give it now? Was it a warning to those who seek to disrupt the November election?

The networks may have deferred so as not to be under pressure to cover Trump and other Republicans' political speeches live.

Is it your opinion that the networks viewed this as a partisan speech or did they just not want to deal with the howling and the pressure? My hypothesis is the latter—rather than even the possibility of the perception of “playing favorites” (never mind that Biden IS the sitting POTUS), the major networks all decided to punt.

Or are you talking about a piece “from the Editorial Board”? I suspect item (4) is very much the rationale — head off the potentially “worst case” scenarios at the pass. POTUS may have more intel about the undercurrents of the MAGA movement than has been reported in the media.

Which, in effect, means that everything is partisan these days. Media decisions fuel that narrative. They either "both sides it" or they stick their heads in the sand which allows those that want everything to be partisan gets to set the storyline.
