Since we have 5-9 inches predicted:
Advice is like snow - the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper in sinks into the mind.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
And for the prurient minded:
Nature has no mercy at all. Nature says, "I'm going to snow. If you have on a bikini and no snowshoes, that's tough. I am going to snow anyway."

In recognition of the start of Spring Training I decided to quote one of the game's preeminent philosophers:
Forecasting is very difficult, especially when it involves the future.
Yogi Berra
As I was searching for today's quote, I found this observation nearby. I have to wonder who came up with this concept first.
Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future.

Susan Orlean I had a discussion about this with an acquaintance who lives in Truckee, currently buried under 8-12 ft of snow. I said I regretted that my kids did not know of the joy. She said her kids have been out of school a total of 3 weeks of snow days (not counting the holidays and their ski week in Feb.). No joy there anymore!

Had to take the laptop to Geek Squad since it wasn't charging. (Yes it was plugged in) Turns out, if you use the USB port to charge something it diverts power from the laptop battery charger. Bottom line: it was my fault.

Sadly, our Seton Hall Pirates fell to the University of Colorado Buffalos by two points in the last second. However, all is not lost: Rutgers #1 Seed, and Villanova both lost. Now we will watch the rest of the NCAA tournament.
... spring also means March Madness. I love the name March Madness. I'm glad the PC police haven't made us change March Madness to early spring psychosis.

This morning, I was volunteered to help clean up as in "Spring Cleaning". As I looked for an appropriate quote I came across this one by Charles Dickens. I think it covers a "guy's" way to look at cleaning.
Bring in the bottled lightning, a clean tumbler, and a corkscrew.
Charles Dickens

I'll be a bit busy this weekend between home care and boredom. Since baseball season starts soon, a baseball quote from a pitcher.
Sure I eat what I advertise. Sure I eat Wheaties for breakfast. A good bowl of Wheaties with bourbon can't be beat.
