Did our taxes Friday, reviewed and e-filed Saturday.  Got notice they were both (Fed and NYS) accepted yesterday.  Found this quote by Plato. Seems griping about taxes is nothing new.

For those that are wondering, we used Turbo Tax.  One thing that helped, we don't have to wait on W2 forms.  Just various types of 1099's. 

My biggest stumbling block was trying to find where to enter our estimated NYS tax.  After searching high and low I found the spot in the Federal Section.  I told Turbo Tax it might be easier on people if they put that in the state section.  NYS may have its warts, but one thing they don't do is tax pension (including Social Security) income.  401K proceeds are taxed.  I already asked if I could change my TSP account to a Roth.  No.

Had two MD appointments yesterday.  Both good.  More cardio monitoring to get my slow heart rate adjusted.  Seeing another MD next month.  Prostate exam was even better: did not have to get THAT exam because of the recent colonoscopy.  Just scheduled a PSA blood test.  In the words of Jerry Stiller:

Got notice my 2024 estimated tax payment was refunded to me from NYS.  I will turn it right around and send the same amount as my 2024 estimated tax payment.  This will get refunded to me in 2025.  Its a game we play.
