Fascist Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Azzhole) may have aided and abetted the traitors involved in the Jan. 6 Republican Insurrection. He wants Kevin McCarthy to attack the Republicans on the investigating committee because he knows they may expose his involvement.

House Freedom Caucus chair Andy Biggs (R-AZ) on Wednesday demanded that Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) boot Reps. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) — the two Republicans serving on the Democratic-led Jan. 6 committee — from the GOP conference, following the panel’s reported inclusion of Biggs in its request for telecommunications companies to preserve the phone records of Republican lawmakers.

In a letter to McCarthy obtained by CNN, Biggs demanded a change to the rules for the GOP conference due to some members choosing to “work with the Democrats to investigate and potentially remove Republican Members from the House.”

Biggs goes on to offer a revisionist take on the events of Jan. 6 by denying that it was an insurrection. Without evidence, Biggs accused Cheney and Kinzinger of being “two spies for the Democrats” that participate in the GOP conference’s meetings “despite our inability to trust them.”

Biggs attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) over her rejection of Reps. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) to serve on the panel, citing McCarthy’s move to yank the rest of his selections for the committee following Pelosi’s move, before pivoting back to calling for Kinzinger and Cheney’s ouster from the GOP conference.

“Congresswoman Cheney and Congressman Kinzinger defied the request, offering to aid the Democrats in their investigation,” Biggs wrote. “We cannot trust these Members to sit in our Republican Conference meetings while we plan our defense against the Democrats.”

A Capitol riot defendant has lost his pretrial freedom over a binge of Mike Lindell’s flop “Cyber Symposium,” which promised and failed to show that China hacked and stole the 2020 election.

It’s a steep price to pay for Iowa man Doug Jensen (pictured above, center), who’s accused of chasing Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman up a flight of stairs during the Capitol breach.

Jensen had only been out of federal custody for a few weeks when a pretrial services officer found him in his garage, watching Lindell’s symposium on a cell phone — in breach of release conditions that forbade internet use.

As prosecutors put it, a mere 30 days after his release, Jensen “was found alone, in his garage, using a WiFi-connected iPhone to stream news from Rumble,” the internet streaming video site.

Judge Timothy J. Kelly of the Washington, D.C. federal district court said he’d restricted Jensen’s internet use as a condition of his release precisely because of the impact that online conspiracy theories appear to have played in his alleged actions.

As I listen to some of them I find myself agreeing with the lawyer.  And he's right about the 4 or 5 years of Trump propaganda. One of the three Arizona men wielding zip ties in a filmed confrontation with an elementary school principal over the school’s COVID-19 quarantine policy has been cited with trespassing, the Tucson Police Department told TPM.

Rishi Rambaran, a 40-year-old father of a student at the school, was cited after the Thursday incident, TPD Sergeant Richard Gradillas said.

Rambaran, a local coffee shop owner named Kelly Walker, and a third unidentified man had marched into the office of Diane Vargo, the principal of Mesquite Elementary School, after Rambaran’s child who had been exposed to COVID-19 was asked to quarantine in accordance with the Pima County Health Department’s policies. Walker later posted a video of the confrontation on his coffee shop’s Instagram page.

Walker appears to refer to Rambaran as “Reese” in a different Instagram video. Gradillas told TPM the department was unable to provide more information on the case at this time.

Walker’s video of the confrontation shows how the three men went into Vargas’ office equipped with what they called “law enforcement zip ties.”

They accused the principal of “breaking the law” and warned her that they were prepared to carry out a citizen’s arrest “if you insist on this” policy.

“We’re ready to make a citizen’s arrest if necessary,” one of the men told Vargo.

They left before the police arrived at the scene.

Brown shirt bullies. They are a major part of the Republican base now.

Fascist Kevin McCarthy said the Republicans were going to have their own Jan. 6 investigation. Or perhaps not. I guess smarter Republicans realize how dumb and traitorous it would make them look, not that they haven't been doing a bang up job on that front already.

When he appeared before the press on July 21, the day that Speaker Nancy Pelosi booted two Republicans from a panel to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy made a pledge.

“We will run our own investigation,” the California Republican said. “Why was the Capitol so ill-prepared for that day… and what have we done to make sure that never happens again?”

More than six weeks later, and well into the official Jan. 6 committee’s own work, there’s no sign that McCarthy and the House GOP will make good on that pledge. Several House Republican aides said they hadn’t seen any indication that such a probe is imminent. A McCarthy spokesperson didn’t answer repeated requests for comment.

For the vast majority of the GOP, those crickets sound good. Most Republicans would be happy to never talk about Jan. 6 again, and with the party increasingly focused on President Joe Biden’s handling of the end of the war in Afghanistan, some are baffled that McCarthy might lift any finger to remind the public of the low point of Donald Trump’s presidency.

“None of us want this to be a priority,” said a House Republican aide. “I don’t think there’s any member that wants to serve on this committee.”

Terrorist tactics by law enforcement, this time court officers in NY.

This isn’t new news. It happened more than a week ago. But I’d missed it. So maybe you did too. The Chief Judge of the New York State court system, Janet DiFiore, announced on August 23rd that court employees would have until September 7th to get vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID-19 testing.

In response Dennis Quirk, President of the New York State Court Officers Association, published the addresses of DiFiore’s two homes and called for protests outside her homes. He was suspended for doxxing the Chief Judge. But as he pointed out the state can’t suspend him as President of the union.

Quirk, who – hard to imagine this is even possible – has been President of the union for 43 years, told The Daily News, “I have only one comment. The chief judge of the state of New York, okay, Janet DiFiore, is the most corrupt and unethical judge in the history of the state of New York, okay?”

This is no shock. Whether on the surface or in the undercurrents race and white supremacy always seem to crop up. Is it any wonder why they hate critical race theory so much? It's not history to them, it's a personal attack. The fact that it's a well deserved one doesn't matter.

As seems to be the case in many parts of the country, police officers are among the least vaccinated groups. The whole thing really breaks down along the very familiar cultural cleavages we’ve seen powerfully over the last 18 months: generally affluent and educated lawyers getting vaccinated at high rates while more male and culturally and politically conservative cops are not.

Indeed, the court officers seem to be a particularly unreconstructed bunch. While officers in the state courts broadly mirror the state’s demographics, whites are generally in more senior positions while Black and Hispanic officers are generally in more junior positions. A 2020 independent commission report found a “culture of toxicity and unprofessionalism” among court officers across the state. The report cited a separate investigation in which black court officers in Brooklyn accused Quirk of fostering a “safe haven for racist speech and actions.”

There’s a fair amount of evidence for this. The report cited numerous instances of court officers using racial slurs including the n-word and a general hostility “by court officers towards litigants, litigants’ relatives and attorneys of color.” The report further found that judges were often hesitant to report or criticize officers because they would then create a hostile environment in their courtrooms.

A viral video of a woman deliberately coughing on masked shoppers at a Nebraska grocery store while laughing and calling them “sheep” has a perhaps-not-altogether-surprising local angle: the woman appears to be from Scottsdale.

It took amateur sleuths just a few days to identify the woman as Janene Hoskovec — a longtime Scottsdale resident, at least according to her social media.

In the video, which was first posted Sunday on Reddit, Hoskovec approaches a mother and daughter in the produce section of a Super Saver. The two were wearing masks (Lincoln, Nebraska, where the store is located, has a citywide mask mandate in place). She follows them, heckling them about their masks and coughing dramatically.

“You’re such sheep,” she tells them.

When another shopper asks why she isn't wearing a mask, she responds: “I’m not sick and neither are you.”

Per the original Reddit post, Hoskovec tailed the mother and daughter around the store until they left, despite attempted interventions by store employees. It was, the woman wrote in her post, a “bizarre and weird” experience.

“There were several other people around wearing masks, but for some reason she chose to pick on me and my kid,” she wrote.

The woman who first posted the clip on Reddit also described how Hoskovec continued to follow her around the store after the original confrontation.

"I then tried to continue my shopping, but this lady followed me around the store. I told her she needs to keep her distance and that her coughing on me was assault," she said.

"She laughed and kept saying: 'Look at you, it's so cute how scared you are!' By this time I was absolutely livid, trying my best to hold it together in front of my kid. I didn't finish my shopping, instead I went to the self checkout to pay for my stuff. Next she followed me to use the self checkout right next to mine," she added.

The FBI is going after the terrorists, including their lawyer.

The FBI is investigating “seditious conspiracy” charges related to the January 6 attack on the US Capitol, according to a search warrant served Tuesday night on a lawyer for the far-right Oath Keepers’ militia group.

Kellye SoRelle, the Oath Keepers’ general counsel, tweeted Wednesday that the FBI had seized her phone. The action would seem unusual, since SoRelle is a lawyer who says she has provided advice to defendants facing prosecution or investigation due to their actions on January 6. “[T]hey have all my clients and my comms,” she commented in a message to Mother Jones. “[It’s] unethical as shit on their part.”

SoRelle is close to Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, who has not been charged with crimes related to the siege of Congress, but who remains a subject of investigation and was with Sorelle on January 6 in Washington. Prosecutors have charged 17 Oath Keeper members with conspiring to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s electoral victory; Rhodes is not named, but is identifiable as “PERSON ONE” in court documents detailing his extensive online and phone communications with Oath Keeper members ahead of and during the siege of Congress. FBI agents seized Rhodes’ phone in May as part of their investigation. Rhodes had stated previously that he believes he may “go to jail” over the events of January 6, but he denies wrongdoing and has accused prosecutors of trying to build a false case against him and fellow Oath Keepers.

SoRelle suggested on Twitter that the seizure of her phone was a part of a baroque conspiracy connected to her interest in “deep state ties” to Mike Lindell, the “MyPillow guy” famous for promoting that false theory that Trump was robbed of a 2020 election victory by Chinese hackers and Democratic Party officials. There is no evidence agents were interested in SoRelle’s views on Lindell.

Instead, according to the search warrant, an image of which SoRelle provided to Mother Jones, the phone seizure is about suspected crimes connected to January 6. The warrant says the search is related to potential violations of nine criminal statutes: Those include crimes with which many people who entered the Capitol have been charged, from destruction of government property to trespassing and obstruction of Congress. The agents are also seeking evidence of false statements and obstruction of justice, including destruction of evidence, the warrant says.

A neo-Nazi terror cell enmeshed in the US Marine Corps made plans to attack the power grid last fall, hoping the could set the stage to carry out assassinations in their quest to create a white ethno-state, according to a new indictment issued last month.

Arrests in the government's takedown of the terror cell, whose members called themselves "BSN," began in October 2020, starting with founders Liam Montgomery Collins and Paul James Kryscuk, and gradually expanding to include three others through June 2021. Collins and Kryscuk were initially charged with surreptitiously manufacturing and transporting firearms for profit, but in November 2020, a superseding indictment charged them with manufacturing and shipping firearms, including suppressors, "with the intention that they be used unlawfully in the furtherance of civil disorder." As has previously been reported, members fantasized about shooting Black Lives Matter protesters in Boise, Idaho in the summer of 2020.

The most recent indictment, handed down on Aug. 18, adds a new charge of conspiracy to sabotage an energy facility. The purpose, according to the government was "to attack the power grid both for the purpose of creating general chaos and to provide cover and ease of escape in those areas in which they planned to undertake assassinations and other desired operations to further their goal of creating a white ethno-state."

Alicia Garza and Patrisse Cullors, the co-founders of Black Lives Matter, have previously disclosed that the FBI notified them in October 2020 that their names were found on a list in Kryscuk's home in Boise around the time of his arrest.

Evidence apparently continues to pile up against the terrorists from the Jan. 6 Republican Insurrection. That puts off hearings which for some means more time in jail.

A judge agreed that Jan. 31 was too soon to hold a trial for three Oath Keepers who stormed the U.S. Capitol to stop the certification of Joe Biden's election win.

Washington D.C. federal District Court Judge Amit Mehta expressed concern about the pace of the trial after new evidence continues to pile up faster than prosecutors and defense attorneys can keep up, and he suggested early April as a new start date, reported Politico.

"I am concerned about a lengthy pretrial detention period," Mehta said, as the three defendants -- Jessica Watkins, Kelly Meggs and Kenneth Harrelson -- remain in jail as they await trial on conspiracy and other charges.

The judge pointed out that the Justice Department doesn't have to turn over every piece of evidence before starting the trial, but is required only to turn over items relevant to the defendants in this case.

"Otherwise we won't be having a trial in any of these cases until 2023," Mehta said. "I just don't think that's acceptable to those being held."

The judge said he was considering splitting the case into two separate trials, which would begin in the months ahead of next year's primary elections.

Saturday's march in support of traitors and terrorists was a big, fat dud. This illustrates why it's so important to come down hard on the Jan. 6 insurrectionists. It was all fun, games, and selfies in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office when they didn't believe there's be any repercussions. Now? Of course they're still mouthy but they are clearly cowed into inaction at this scale. They'll probably continue threats and assaults on softer targets, however, like people serving on school boards. In a city still on edge after the Jan. 6 insurrection, law enforcement bore down in large numbers on the Capitol on Saturday over concerns that a rally in support of the jailed rioters would turn violent. It didn’t.

The crowd was sparse and incidents were few. The only clear parallels to the riots more than eight months ago by supporters of Donald Trump were the false claims put forth by the rally organizers about the violence that January day when Congress met to certify the election of Joe Biden.

The low turnout also called into question whether such rallies will have any staying power as the organizers attempt to tap into the rage of Jan. 6 without the presence of the former president.

Law enforcement had prepared for a confrontation by erecting temporary fencing around the Capitol and deploying heavy dump trucks to ring the rally site. Local police departments and the U.S. National Guard were on standby.

It sounds like both low turnout and an embarrassing lack of acknowledgement from even a C-list political celebrity. 

Republican lawmakers, including those who had voted that day to challenge Biden’s election, avoided Saturday’s rally. Rally organizer Matt Braynard took elected officials to task for not backing up those now in jail and introduced candidates who are running for elected office.

Counterprotesters stood by and jeered. Some held anti-Trump signs and one man who had confronted some of the pro-Trump protesters was quickly removed by police, who used bicycles to shield him from the crowd as they escorted him down the street.

They picked up a few terrorist wannabes, though.

One person was arrested in the crowd for carrying a knife and a second man was arrested after someone reported to officers that they saw him carrying what appeared to be a handgun, police said. Two other people who police say were wanted in Texas – for a firearms charge and probation violation – were also arrested after being pulled over near the Capitol Saturday morning.

One of the Jan. 6 Republican Insurrection terrorists fighting for fascism is a staffer at the ironically named FreedomWorks.

A staffer for the right-wing group FreedomWorks was arrested last week and charged for his alleged involvement in the Capitol attack, court documents unsealed Thursday show.

Brandon Prenzlin, who had been listed as a “grassroots coordinator” on the FreedomWorks staff page as recently as two weeks ago, had been removed from that page Thursday.

An FBI agent’s affidavit in support of the charges against Prenzlin cites multiple stills from surveillance video on Jan. 6, alleging that the video showed Prenzlin was allegedly inside the Capitol for 3 minutes and 35 seconds.

Prenzlin entered the building on its southeast corner and exited with “a number of individuals” known to law enforcement as being present in the Speaker’s Lobby when Ashli Babbitt was shot by a Capitol Police officer, the affidavit alleged, before noting that Prenzlin likely did not reach the scene of Babbitt’s death.

Prenzlin is charged with four misdemeanors: Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in any of the Capitol buildings.

Austin Fire Department arson investigators and the FBI have arrested 30 year old Ryan Faircloth after an investigation into who threw a Molotov Cocktail into the Travis County Democratic Party headquarters early Wednesday morning. Security cameras showed a man alleged to be Faircloth first throwing a rock through the building’s front door, then returning with the Molotov Cocktail.

Damage was minimal. Patrons at a bar across the street saw the fire and quickly put it out. Security cameras were installed after a graffiti incident last year. Faircloth is charged with 2nd degree felony arson 3rd degree felony possession of a prohibited weapon.

Donald Trump filmed a video for Capitol attacker Ashli Babbitt’s birthday, celebrating Babbitt’s life and saying “there was no reason Ashli should’ve lost her life that day” — while failing to describe Babbitt’s own actions, as part of a mob attack on the Capitol, that preceded her death.
