He blamed his wife's spat with a neighbor for it? I do buy the idea that he didn't notice. My dear husband wouldn't notice something like that. I could change all the furniture in our front room which we don't use much but walk by it all the time and it would be a week before he noticed it. Here, it’s the garden flags, which I change out seasonally. The chances of Chem PhD noticing a change from Valentine’s Day to St. Patrick’s Day to Easter are 50/50 at best. ETA: I just saw where the prosecution in the hush $$ case rested after 20 witnesses & 200 exhibits.

A true weasel would blame an unpaid intern. (Or Clerk as the case may be)

Perhaps he places his wife on the same level as an unpaid intern. She belongs in the kitchen, for God's sake.

Welp we have a first. First former president convicted of felonies in the campaign influence by hiding hush money payments to someone named Stormy Daniels. The verdict came in so fast that I thought it would be an acquittal. Was dead wrong.
This is a great time for the Republican Party to decide that he shouldn't be the nominee. Silly me. His daughter in law is co-chair of it.

His daughter in law is co-chair of it. A reckoning long overdue, even if the punishment will never be equal to the actual crimes he perpetrated on the nation. As to republicans supporting him, they appear to be between a rock and a hard place. While there is a chance they will lose by still supporting him, it also seems a near certainty they will lose by not doing so. Obviously this omits any moral calculus.

Looks like Pres Biden is spared the impeachment threat now. He's going to just declare immunity and go ahead with his program.

Per NYT, Cannon is tossing the classified documents case because Jack Smith’s appointment violated the Constitution.

Whaaaaa?!? If the judge didn't find this reason to throw out the case I'm predicting/speculating that she would have thrown it out based on the outer edges of official presidential act immunity.

The RICO case in Georgia is ongoing and apparently the House Judiciary Committee has some subpoenas it wants honored. Here is the letter sent by the former Governor of Georgia who still practices law about that topic. Note the final paragraph on the first page:

At the rate he's declining, by the time Trump's next trials actually start, he'll be declared mentally incompetent.
