I'm seeing some odd behavior between my laptop and my phone. In the Non-Political Humor thread I get two completely different views.
Laptop: I see 5 posts; LFC, LFC, goldenvalley, LFC, and goldenvalley. I can't see GV's pics at work because they block Facebook but I can at least see the URLs.
Phone: I see 3 posts; LFC, LFC, and andyp. My first two posts are missing and a different shows up at the end for me.
The posts are also tagged with different timestamps. The one post of mine that shows up both on my laptop and on my phone is timestamped as Apr 4, 2021 at 8:18pm on the laptop but Apr 2, 2021 at 7:57pm on the phone.
Is anybody else having different experiences on their computer vs. their phone?
EDIT: OK, that's odd. All experiences now sync up and are the same that I had on my phone. So two of my posts and both of goldenvalley's posts are now completely gone.

You got me! I have noticed some differences in the layout between laptop and mobile, notably the "apparent" size of the default font. I haven't caught anything off WRT number of posts.

I liked the feature on the old board to just get new posts, since the last time I checked. Is there an equivalent here?
Also, how does one stay logged in? When I return to the site, I'm forced to log in again.

When I return to the site, I'm forced to log in again. I can’t speak to the issue of staying logged in; I tend to log out when I will be away for longer than a few minutes. The automatic logout may be some sort of security “feature”?? To go straight to the new posts on a given thread, click on the “new” icon in that thread. That should take you to the first new post in that thread (equivalent to clicking on the star icon on the left side of the thread in “old” TRS.

The "new" does show up. But it does require one go down every category and thread to find them all. It was a nice feature to just see a list of them on the dying board, all consolidated in one place.

I just figured out another way to go about it. On the main page, scroll down to the section "Forum Information and Statistics". In that box, there is a link "Recent Posts," which will take you to a page showing the most recent posts first. No, it isn't quite as efficient as the setup in TRS 1.0. However, I'm not sure how to create that sort of feature, or how to move the stats box higher up to bring the "recent Posts" link more readily accessible.

There's another neat feature on PB - I don't know if TRS 1.0 has it - if you accidentally lose your post (as I did when I logged out to see what the check box was called for the previous post), PB will recover your post and ask if you want to continue with it. This feature has saved my bacon many times. It doesn't work iirc if you lose your post by closing your browser.

Just saw your announcement on TRS 1. Sad to see "old reliable" get unplugged.
However, time marches on and we must adapt.
Glad we all made the changeover.

About time I joined the new thread! Great to see you all here. As usual, a day late, but hopefully not a dollar short. I stuck with the old version as long as I could. Couldnt figure out where everyone had gone. Price you pay when you only read the political discussion thread. Wish I had time for all of them, but then I would never get anything done...

I don't remember how I got to it, but my bookmark for here takes me to 'recently updated threads'. add: go to the main home page, scroll to the very bottom, and click on 'recent threads'. talkradiosucks.proboards.com/threads/recent................................ Would it be possible to lose the 'edited' notation? If I'm posting, I'm editing for one thing or another. If not completely, at least allow a 5 or 10 minute grace period.

It is nice to have a bit of a grace period to catch typos and the like that were missed before the post was submitted.

About inserting links into text: This has come up more than once as a problem and mentioned in a discussion thread. I myself had to figure it out the HARD way, pretty much trial and error, so I’m posting this here for future reference.
When you attempt to embed a link in text and get the dialog box where you get "text" on one line and "Link" starting with "http: on the other, if you are copying and pasting a link from another site, you have to eliminate that preceding "http"; otherwise, the link just loops back to the original post.
Example: I will link to Yahoo! by pasting the link after the double slashes in the dialog box. Mouse over the link and you see a link to here.

A member inquiry concerning navigation:
The answer is somewhat different depending on whether the user is on the mobile or desktop interface.
On the Mobile interface, there is a footer that that includes “Back” and “Top” arrow buttons. Tapping the latter takes you to the top of the page. However, there does not appear to be a corresponding setup on the Desktop version.
I don't see any means of navigating directly to new posts once in a given thread in either interface. Has anyone else caught something I may have missed? Please share.

Not quite the solution but if you click on the Last Post box (except on the link for the poster) it will bring you to the end of the thread. I haven't seen a way to jump to the first unread post in a thread though.

So as a newbie here, how do I find the last read post? That was my favorite feature of the old board. Hassle to have to navigate through the threads to fine the more recent posts. I recall reading about a workaround somewhere here, but I cannot find it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Clicking that box, but not the name of the poster which links to their profile, jumps you to the last post in the thread.

Do you mean the very last post in a thread or the first unread post? If you mean the very last, click on the time under the "Last Post" column of the thread you want. If you mean the first unread, click on the "NEW" button to the left of the thread's title in the Subject column.

Traveler, elsewhere you were asking about text link. Here's how you I do it. It sounds like but that's probably becasue I over specified. It's really super simple. There are other possible workflows but this one works for me.
1) Type some text including the text you want the text that will contain the link. My text will be "Go to this link for the time."
2) Copy the link to the page you want. In this case I'm using "https://www.time.gov/" for my destination.
3) Highlight the link text in step 1. In this example "this link" is what I'm going to use.
4) Click the little earth icon that's 9 icons from the right. If you hover over it it will say "Link."
5) A popup is displayed. The text is already "this link." Paste "https://www.time.gov/" into the URL field. Click "Create Link."
6) Now we have the text "Go to this link for the time."

Traveler, elsewhere:
LFC addressed the link query above; I'll tackle the quote one. If you are using "Quick Reply" to reply within a thread, the menu of options (including links and quotes) won't show up. To access the features, including links, quotes, attachments, and text formatting, hit "Reply".
The "Quote" button is pretty self-evident. Once you tap the button, replace the highlighted text with the text you want to insert.

I was on the verge of "softly and suddenly vanishing away" from even lurking in here, I was so frustrated. I would never have found that on my own.
