Re Signature lines: When you are signed in, on the ribbon at the top of the page, where there's "Home", "Help", "Search"...there's a "Profile" link; click on that.
When you reach your profile page, there are a series of tabs. To the right of that series of tabs is the "Edit Profile" button. Click that.
Then you reach a page with another series of tabs starting with "Avatar." The tab you want to click on next is "Personal". Scroll down to nearly the bottom to find the box for a Signature. Unfortunately, there's a relatively small character limit. Type/copy in what you want and then click the button at the bottom of the page that says, "Save Personal Settings."

Same here. It's possible to do (from a quick google search on the subject) and I believe I can do it if there is a consensus agreement?

There was only very rarely an edit notation at the old TRS. And no one seemed to object.
No one here changes previous content for nefarious reasons. Except perhaps in the cat or beer threads.
