I think we are good to go. Please note that you can still enter a reason for an edit if you like, it just won't be displayed. If ever the "edited by" feature is turned on again, then it will.
If anybody else has something that particularly bothers them, please feel free to leave a note here. Some changes are pretty easy (as this one was) and some may be too hard (== will take too much time) but can at least be considered.

I, too dislike the edited note when all you are doing is correcting typos and iPhonisms. I am not familiar with ProBoards, but on some other type boards this can most certainly can be set. On the old board there was an option in the editor to include the line. The only time that I set it was if I changed something in the content, but never for a simple typo correction.

I ignore it so it really doesn't impact me.

I was being annoyed with Facebook's increasingly aggressive spamming. Clicking on the most innocent thing will now earn you a shit ton more spam than it used to. Often I will right click & copy addresses that I want to explore and parse out the actual address minus all of the PHP tracking garbage and manually paste the result into the address bar. I got tired of doing this all of the time, so I made a little tool to automatically parse out the actual address. Paste the first part of the address in the first box (right before the second 'http') and the entire address in the second box and click the parse button. The address you want without all of the tracking garbage will appear in the third box. Click the copy button and paste it into your browser's address bar and hit enter. I thought it would also be good for posting links here as I have noticed some do not strip out the trackers for links posted here. This is not thoroughly tested, but is is safe since all it does is string manipulation of what you paste in. es, this is Windows, but may run OK on Mac or Linux either/or Wine or the dotNet framework installed on your system. Re-posting this item that AnBr posted in the "Random Posts" thread over here in hopes it doesn't get completely buried (name of attachment in the original post was "ParseURL.zip" I don't know why it won't replicate the name). -Bact PhD

Re-titled this thread to better reflect that it's for tech/operational questions/comments.

You could just move the post to this thread. It should keep the attachment name that way.

You could just move the post to this thread. It should keep the attachment name that way. Done, merged into this thread, complete with timestamp and correct attachment name. Fortunately, this move did not take any other conversation elements with it.

You would have to move those as well. I have never administered ProBoards before, but other software allows you to move multiple posts in the same action.

I'm suddenly having issues with the site. On Firefox I don't have any of the reply controls like quoting, linking, pictures, etc. and the BBCode tab doesn't do anything. On Chrome the formatting is a hot mess plus no controls. Is anybody else seeing similar issues?

I’ll check Firefox on my WinDoze 11 laptop shortly.

I tried another browser, re-logged in from a private Firefox window, closed a few things, and for one (or none) of those reasons it has come back for me. Weird.
Thx for checking.

Working as usual on Firefox/WinDoze 11. Glad your issue is straightened out.

Amazing how shutting things down can help electronics work. I learned early from my brother the IT guy to just shut down the CPU/laptop/whatever and disconnect it from all power sources for 20 minutes. Depending on what's wrong doing that can fix whatever was going haywire.

Just tried it in Palemoon, Firefox, Chrome, Brave and Edge. Works in all of these. Ad blocker/script issue?

Is it just me or this site balky? Sometimes a page loads quickly other times I get "bad gateway" or some sort of apology page.

End of an Era
I was attempting to refer back to something on Legacy TRS earlier today. It’s gone. “…the server cannot be found.” My friend Google didn’t pull it up, either, even though it did pull up a looonng-unused Twitter account of the same name.
It was going to happen sooner or later…
