Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles.

When I played pro football, I never set out to hurt anyone deliberately - unless it was, you know, important, like a league game or something.

SInce the weekend will be a footballl OD weekend, I thought quotes from some of the more articulate NFL Players would be well accepted.

This being the weekend, I thought some levity may be in order.
You can lead a man to Congress, but you can't make him think.
Money can't buy you happiness. It just helps you look for it in more places.

I was busy yesterday so here's two from a giant of American philosophy:
You can fool some of the people some of the time -- and that's enough to make a decent living.
I don't have to attend every argument I'm invited to.

In case you aren't aware, the game** will be held tomorrow at 1500 on CBS. In deference to football, I'm quoting Knute Rockne today:
I've found that prayers work best when you have big players.
** Army-Navy game.
Side note: #21 Seton Hall beat #7 Texas last night 64-60 in a hard fought and very tight game all the way to the end. Next Pirates game is the "Battle of the Boards" against intra state rival Rutgers on Sunday Dec 12 1930 on Fox sports. This is one of the longest sports rivalries in the US.

Since its the weekend I've been going nuts making cakes for our friends. Just spent about four-five hours baking and wrapping. Now I get to relax. We only have one football game on at 1300. KC is destroying Las Vegas. So we have beer. I leave you with the words of Frank Zappa:
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.
Frank Zappa

Another Mae West quote I've always liked:
Maid: "Goodness what beatiful diamonds Miss West !!"
Mae: "Gooodness had nothing to do with it dearie."
