Guns and fetuses are all that matter. If actual children are killed by guns, that's acceptable. Of course, if a child sees a drag queen, then suddenly the supposed welfare of a child becomes a manufactured rallying cry. They've even proposed laws that would make killing a fetus another count of murder but they really aren't much interested in the children that are born. Yes. CA counties have charged women who've had miscarriages for negligent homicide if the prosecutor thinks drug use caused the miscarriage. As if there was much in the way of drug treatment for the mother being available. And yeah, the baby will be covered with MediCal for its first year of life but that's only medical care. A baby needs a lot more than that and won't be getting it.

Can they make such charges stick under California law? A bit unclear. I think there are bills in the legislature on this topic right now.

Maybe because the pregnancy was so far along (8 1/2 months)? I thought abortion was legal in California. Maybe because no medical involvement?

More info trickling out about the shooting in the Uvalde elementary school. I didn't post this to condemn the officers. But maaaybeeee...allowing the general public to buy ARs and similar rifles is a bad idea. Would that ever sink in with the 2nd Amendment fanatics?

The NRA is clawing its way back to solvency but it's interesting to see where expenses were cut and where they climbed.
A million members already left. If they keep cutting the things they most care about they may lose even more.

If they keep cutting the things they most care about they may lose even more. Like a restaurant or store that tries to solve a financial downturn by cutting back on what made them successful to start. Become known for a high quality of product then cheapen that quality to cut overhead. As customers abandon them they cut back more. It becomes a death spiral.

No; they'd say buy some for the teachers. Hell, buy some for the kids! The more the merrier?!? We still end up in the situation of Uvalde school. One guy has an AR, is using it, and is barricaded somewhere. Cops all have similar weapons and don't approach him because he'll cut them down. Either we get continued paralysis like that or everybody starts shooting and everybody ends up wounded or dead.

Floriduh once again leads the way ... backwards.
If this passes it will take mere milliseconds for DeSatanist to ensure that nobody can gather shooting statistics in the state.

In GOPtopia, every (white Christian) citizen should be packing heat. Any (non-white or Democrat) person who argues with a (white) person can be possibly subjected to eating lead, under Stand Your Ground philosophy. This is the Pro (white) Life dogma at its pinnacle, not to mention their solution to Social Security (thin the recipient pool).

Open carry was on the table at one point, but that was a bridge too far…this year.

I'm sure glad that the children of Tennessee are protected from public drag queen performances. That'll be a comfort to the parents of the dead kids.

Looks like the shooting in the Nashville school was an extended suicide by cop plan. And of course the a*%h*&s of the country are complaining the school wasn't "hardened" enough and omg the shooter might be transgender. And look was perhaps under psychological care! And don't take any guns away.

Well the indictment of Trump wiped the shooting at the school in Nashville off the front pages and out of the minds of most people. I was happy to read that students descended upon the Tennessee State House yesterday and that at least some legislators are paying attention. Inside the building on things got testy.
